Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana: Under PMJDY zero balance account can be opened by individuals. However, in case individuals would like to have access to the cheque facility, maintenance of a minimum balance is mandatory. No charges will be levied on the individual to open an account under the PMJDY scheme.

- This scheme has Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) enabled.
- This scheme also has an overdraft facility available after six months of active account operation.
- The account holder can also access other financial products like pensions and insurance with this scheme
- This scheme also offers an overdraft facility of up to Rs.10,000 to eligible account holders.
- Moreover, accident insurance coverage of Rs.1 lakh is provided to PMJDY account holders with a RuPay card. For accounts opened after 28 August 2018, the coverage is enhanced to ₹2 lakh.
